Semi-truck crash on QEII kills 17 cattle in central Alberta
A semi-truck driver was killed in a crash on the QEII Highway in central Alberta on Wednesday, according to RCMP.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. on the QEII Highway, near the Bowden exit. RCMP said the semi-truck was travelling eastbound when it collided with a herd of cattle that were on the highway.
The impact of the collision caused the semi-truck to roll over. The driver of the semi-truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP said the cattle involved in the collision were part of a larger herd that was being moved across the highway.
The QEII Highway was closed for several hours while RCMP investigated the crash.

The semi-truck driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. No other injuries were reported.
RCMP said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
