A torrential downpour on Wednesday brought nearly a foot of rain to the eastern coast of Florida, causing widespread flash flooding. The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport was one of many areas affected by the flooding, with entrances and exits submerged.
South Florida has been hit hard by the storm, with some coastal areas receiving up to 25 inches of rain. Homes and businesses have been flooded, and emergency declarations have been issued for Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, and Broward County.
