The Colorado Avalanche fell 5-3 to the Dallas Stars in Game 2 of their second-round series on Friday night at Ball Arena. The Avalanche now trail the series 1-1.

Roope Hintz had a goal and three assists for the Stars. Jason Robertson, Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski and Esa Lindell also scored for Dallas.

Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen scored for the Avalanche.

Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper allowed five goals on 31 shots. Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger made 25 saves.

The Avalanche will host the Stars in Game 3 on Sunday night at Ball Arena.

The series is now tied 1-1, and the Avalanche will need to win at least one game in Dallas to take back home-ice advantage. The Stars have been a tough opponent for the Avalanche this season, and they will need to be at their best to win this series.
